Terms and Conditions for online purchase or renewal of auto insurance & road tax on Govicle App

Important Notes

The insurance product promoted on this platform is distributed by Finology Sdn Bhd (Finology), which is a licensed agent under Persatuan Insuran Am Malaysia (PIAM). The description of the features and benefits of the insurance product herein is not a contract of insurance and merely a brief summary of the insurance product for quick reference. The complete terms and conditions of the insurance product are contained in the Policy Document of the Insurer.

Govicle Sdn Bhd (“Govicle”), accepts no responsibility, obligation or liability for this insurance product and the services provided by the Insurer. Govicle merely acts as the platform which promotes this insurance product.

This insurance product is the Insurer’s product and not a product of Govicle. Therefore this insurance product is not guaranteed by Govicle, its subsidiaries and/or its affiliates, Finology and the Insurer shall undertake the full insurance responsibilities, obligations and liabilities in respect of this insurance product.

  1. General

1.1 Customers are responsible for ensuring all the information provided is accurate prior to the purchase or renewal of insurance and/or road tax.

1.2 Customers are responsible for ensuring their vehicle(s) are not blacklisted by authority due to unpaid summons and free from any legal actions.

1.3 Customers are responsible for ensuring their vehicle(s) road tax has not lapsed for more than one year. Should the road tax has lapsed for more than one year, the customer must perform PUSPAKOM special inspection before proceed to purchase insurance and/or road tax from Govicle App.

1.4 Customer shall bear any cost for amendment or cancelation of insurance and/or road tax. Govicle shall not be responsible for any monetary loss happen to customer due to amendment or cancelation of insurance and/or road tax for the reasons stated above.

1.5 Read the Cancellation and Refund section for details regarding the cost involve and processing time.

  1. Road Tax Delivery

2.1 The road tax renewal and delivery may take up to 5 working days. The customer will receive a tracking number via email or SMS once the road tax is ready for shipping.

2.2 Delivery may take longer if the information provided by the customers is inaccurate.

2.3 The customer needs to contact directly to the courier service partner if there is any amendment related to the delivery address after the tracking number sent to the customer.

2.4 The courier partner should return the road tax to the sender if it fails to reach the customer after several attempts. It may due to an inaccurate delivery address or recipient non-contactable. The customer shall bear the additional cost to rearrange for new delivery.

2.5 In the case of loss or damage of the road tax during transit, the customer MUST

2.5.1 Proceed to renew the road tax at the nearest JPJ branch

2.5.1.1 Action by customer

        1. Only the vehicle owner can do a second renewal for the same road tax at JPJ. It first road tax will be classified as a loss/damage. Therefore, for security purposes, the owner is required to thumbprint over the counter.
        1. The customer has to pay penalty fees to JPJ and collect a payment receipt. Penalty fee for road tax replacement
          1. Car – RM 50 flat
          2. Motorcycle – RM 20 flat
        1. Email the payment receipt to FINOLOGY ([email protected]). Finology team will advise the customer accordingly.

2.5.2 Send a copy of the payment receipt to FINOLOGY for claim via email. The refund may take up to 21 working days

2.5.2.1 Action by Finology

        1. Finology will refund the customer within 21 working days upon receiving the copy of the payment receipt. Refund includes, Road tax fees loss/damage Penalty fees
        2. Finology will raise the claim to the courier service partner
  1. Amendment and Endorsement of Insurance Policy

3.1 Any amendment and endorsement of insurance policy may take up to 7 working days. This include,

    1. Amend/Change of Insurer name
    2. Amend/Change of Insurer ID number
    3. Amend/Change of Vehicle Registration number
    4. Amend/Change of Vehicle Brand/Model
    5. Amend/Change of Engine number
    6. Amend/Change of Chassis number
    7. Amend/Change of Coverage type
    8. Amend/Change of Coverage date
    9. Amend/Change of Sum Insured
    10. Extend Coverage Date
    11. Add on Personal Auto Coverage (PAC)
    12. Others details that may require amendment and endorsement
  1. Cancellation and Refund

4.1 Cancellation and Refund of Insurance Premium

4.1.1 The customer can email FINOLOGY for road insurance cancelation.

4.1.2 Cancellation and refund can be done at any time. The refund will be credited to the policyholder’s bank account by the insurer.

4.1.3 FINOLOGY will assist the customer in completing the refund request. The customer is responsible for providing the policyholder’s bank account details for refund purposes. Please be informed that,

      1. Insurance premium refund entitlement, please refer to Appendix A and Appendix B for details
      2. Stamp duty is not refundable

4.1.4 The cancellation and refund may take up to 21 working days.

4.2 Cancellation and Refund of Road Tax

4.2.1 The customer can email FINOLOGY for road tax cancelation.

4.2.2 Road tax cancellation and refund is only allowed if the renewal has not yet been done.

4.2.3 The cancellation and refund may take up to 21 working days.

4.2.4 Please be informed that,

      1. Service Fee and Service Fee tax is not refundable.
      2. Road tax refund calculation, please refer to Appendix C for details

4.2.5 Refund mechanics are as follows,

      1. If payment was made by Credit or Debit card, the refund will be credited to the same Credit or Debit card. Alternatively, the customer can request for the refund to be credited into the other account by providing the new account details to FINOLOGY.

Cancellation and Refund of Insurance Premium

= (Basic Net + Extra Coverage) x Premium Refund Entitlement % X

For example, if period of insurance not exceeding 3 months during cancelation,

Premium Refund Entitlement =   (267.36 + 20.00) x 50% = 143.68

SST Refund Entitlement = (143.68) x 6% = 8.62

Total payable refund to customer = 152.30
